Bought EBAY Wedding Gown, Copy Of LA SPOSA LAMBEL
by Amy
(AUSTRALIA)
Ive always wondered, what type of wedding dress do you REALLY get for $250? About 3 months ago I went onto ebay and chose a dress, it was LA SPOSA's LAMBEL from their 2009 collection. But a COPY ONLY.
It cost me $250 from an ebay seller called Mary-anne bridal. I requested that the back of the dress be changed from button up to lace and sent off an example picture as well as some other photos I found of the designer dress itself. They said this would help them, and the lady who wrote to me on eBay could actually speak English!
Anywho, it took me a while to get around to taking my own measurements. There was an instruction page showing how to take the measurements. I also took a photo of myself, front & side, so they could see my shape.
The dress took about 6 weeks to make and arrived this week. I am blown away. I swear I would've paid $3k for this in a shop. It has layers and layers of lining, the inside of the garment is perfectly sewn with the panel behind the lace back and some little built in clip things (to hold you in apparently)etc.
The bodice is an EXACT replica of the LAMBEL with beautiful beading and the colour was perfect and the fit was perfect with boning throughout. It has a long flowing train. I couldn't think how you could purchase the material for this for under $250! the postage alone on the package cost them $50 (which was included in the total price).
I am stunned and I am a fussy person. I did read the feedback for Mary Anne bridal first and got a good vibe.
I have attached some of the photos I sent the ebay seller to help them make the dress....
Good luck ladies!
Hi Amy,
Thank you sending in this review. Most of the reviews that are sent in do not turn out so well.
I am glad that you had a good experience with ordering a wedding dress from a China based manufacturer. And I am also glad that you sent in pictures to show us your dress!
Your review will help brides that are considering using the source you used.
Plus it is good to know which China based manufacturers really deliver a gown of good quality!
I want to encourage more brides to send in reviews about their experience ordering wedding gowns offshore.
If you ordered a bridal gown from a China wholesaler on eBay from a store on the web, and you were pleased with the results, then let us know your experience and send in pictures if you can.

Just Received My Ebay Custom Made Dress From China

I ordered a dress from a seller on Ebay based in Shanghai. The dress only cost $165 and had free shipping and a good return policy. The seller's communication was good and shipping very quick.
The problems though--quality of material and design. The fit was perfect, but the design--hmmmm... off by a mile. What the seller did was try to make the dress look like the one in the picture by applying appliques in areas that were supposed to be lace designs. If you want an idea of the dress, look up Pronovias Halter. The real dress is gorgeous. The replica, not so much. The dress I received was stuffed in a tiny bag that may have weighed about 6lbs(first sign that something went wrong).
When tried on, it looked nice from about 30 ft away; but when looking at the dress any closer, you could easily see that the dress that was covered in poorly cut appliques that may have been chomped off other dresses and strategically sewn in places that were supposed to be designs. My mother couldn't stop laughing. My dad, who could careless, thought it looked great.
So, I suppose, it's all in the eyes of the beholder??? Whatever the case, I plan to return the dress and get a full refund--though, minus the shipping I will have to spend to ship it back.
Bought A Wedding Dress from Ebay...
Never Again! - Directly From China

Got it made from ourdream888 after reading all the postiive feedback (why it's positive I'll explain shortly). The dress was hideous! Nothing like the photo (I realise they pinch illegally photos from designer's websites but it should look at least a BIT like the pic surely?).
Fabric was crap. Colour wrong. Measurements not correct. It looked SO cheap and tacky.
All in all, I couldn't even GIVE it away. I'm going to keep it for a "bad taste" party.
Now the reason why they all have great feedback is this:
Their item costs say $30. Their postage is say $170.
So when you get your dress and tell them how hideous it is and that it's not acceptable (in a nice way, not like I'm talking now!) they offer you a refund...of the ITEM price (NOT the shipping, naturally). And only IF YOU GIVE THEM POSITIVE FEEDBACK! So they BRIBE you to give thme positive feedback, hence why they all have such great feedback.
Personally it's not worth my $30 back to lie and mislead other people. And ebay doesn't care at all. The standard response is what you get from them and nothing else.
Grr! Ended up buying it online from a shop in America - perfect.
Buying a wedding dress from China
through Ebay

After reading your helpful comments on here, I decided to ask the seller I've been thinking about buying from for a couple of fabric swatches so I could be sure the color was as I'd hoped.
I asked for 3 different red samples, and a sample of the ivory and white satin the dress would be made from. They were willing enough to send me the swatches but wanted over 32 dollars for postage. Seemed a bit drastic to me for 5 tiny samples and I told the seller so. They replied to say that they'd re-listed the dress (during our communications the dress I was interested in had been bought, but I'd had my eye on the dress for the better part of a year and I knew they made them again and again) and to feel free to buy. I told them thank you, but I don't think I'll buy the dress because the postage for the samples is too expensive and without samples I couldn't know the colors were right for me.
Seems to me that it should not be so expensive to post some tiny scraps of satin. I bought a dress for my daughter from China before on Ebay and the postage was only around 8 euro.
